A huge sinkhole swallows two vehicles in the heavy rains of California
California continues to be at extreme risk due to historic floods that have already left at least 17 dead. Thousands of people have had to be evacuated and hundreds of thousands continue without electricity. The situation is chaotic, with flooded streets and roads blocked by landslides. And the forecasts are not hopeful. A succession of cyclones is coming in the next few hours. The storm that hits the Pacific is causing significant damage. This huge hole in a Los Angeles highway has swallowed two vehicles. Two people were traveling in each one of them and they could be rescued without damage.
Millions of people remain under a flood warning, and more than 200,000 homes and businesses are without power from heavy rains, hail and mudslides. Thousands of people have been ordered to evacuate their homes. Governor Gavin Newsom claimed that “we now have 17 tragically confirmed deaths” and warned that more storms will come next week.
